Project Start
Dora tagged us in a TikTok video highlighting the urgent need for reliable electricity in her home village and rallied her 4 Million TikTok followers to get our attention.
Milestone 1
Partnered with Give Power to provide the village with solar panels, and access to clean and sustainable energy sources. This was the first time some of the children had seen light at night.
Milestone 2
Shortly after filming the first film with Dora, a storm blew down some of the houses in the village, and Dora had to relocate many of the children. Thankfully none of the kids were hurt but there was severe rain damage with many of the houses losing all roofing and much of the furniture being destroyed. Rebuilding after the storm completely depleted Dora’s reserve. So with the help of our audience, we set up a fundraiser to help support Dora in rebuilding the homes affected by the storm.
Milestone 3
We provided a deep and properly maintained well for the village. This ensures a steady supply of clean water, significantly improving the community's health and quality of life. This water source means Dora has established sustainable agriculture, ensuring the children have a consistent and reliable source of nutritious food.
Milestone 4
Darren noticed that Dora's commitment to her community and the unreliability of her old car often put her at risk while traveling. When Darren heard she was involved in a car accident and the car completely wrecked we decided to take immediate action and purchased a new and dependable vehicle for her. This not only ensured her safety but also enabled her to continue her essential work without transportation issues.
Milestone 5
The installation of solar power transformed Dora and the children’s daily lives but also enabled us to install a Starlink, providing reliable internet connectivity. This connectivity opened up educational resources for the children and supported Dora's efforts in managing and expanding the orphanage. The ability to connect with the world, access information, and communicate more effectively with Dora’s audience will help secure additional funding.

What is the ‘We Rebuilt a Village’ Campaign?
In one of our favorite film projects to date; ‘We Powered A Village’; we told the story of Dora Moono Nyambo, a single mother in Zambia who fosters over 300 kids. The story began with Dora tagging us in a TikTok video highlighting the urgent need for reliable electricity in her home village.
Dora raises most of her funding to support the village through the donations she generates via her TikTok following (4.1 Million) and so you can see how this story relates to us in a big way, as we are strong advocates of positive influencers who are leveraging the power of social media for good.
Dora still faces countless other issues, and despite these difficulties, she is doing everything she can to help these children. Dora is an incredibly kind and giving person who has had a huge impact on so many lives. She reminds us that positive change can start with one person's voice and a shared commitment to a better future for others less fortunate.
